234 girls were kidnapped in Nigeria two weeks ago. Social Media finally caught on this week. Images have filled my¬†instagram feed and protest have started across the world. I feel jaded. Do they know about the bombing in Abuja last month? The girls kidnapped before this group? The bigger picture? In our world, social issues become pressed into easily digestible packages for public consumption. There is a gap between the 30 second news story and the reality of the situation.
